The project PREPARED ended in January 2014. The forecast system has continued to operate in other projects. Contact Eng. Anabela Oliveira (aoliveira@lnec.pt) for access and further information.

The WIFF of the Tagus estuary is a baroclinic three-dimensional application of the hydrodynamic model SELFE (Zhang and Baptista, 2008). The model has 7 S levels in the vertical and a spatial resolution that varies from 2 km to 30 m. three open boundaries are considered: one oceanic, forced with results from a regional model (MyOcean), one internal, forced by results from the SWM model, and one riverine. The riverine boundary is forced with river flow data from SNIRH and temperature from climatology.
