O WIFF estuário do Tejo baseia-se numa aplicação baroclínica tridimensional do modelo hidrodinâmico SELFE (Zhang e Baptista, 2008). No modelo são utilizados 20 níveis (15 S + 5 Z) na vertical e a resolução espacial varia entre 2 km e 30 m. São consideradas três fronteiras abertas: uma oceânica, forçada por resultados de um modelo regional (MyOcean), uma interna, forçada com caudais do modelo SWM, e uma fluvial. A fronteira fluvial é forçada com dados de caudal do SNIRH e temperatura de climatologia.


The WIFF of the Tagus estuary is a baroclinic three-dimensional application of the hydrodynamic model SELFE (Zhang and Baptista, 2008). The model has 7 S levels in the vertical and a spatial resolution that varies from 2 km to 30 m. three open boundaries are considered: one oceanic, forced with results from a regional model (MyOcean), one internal, forced by results from the SWM model, and one riverine. The riverine boundary is forced with river flow data from SNIRH and temperature from climatology.
