O RDFS da agitação marítima na costa Portuguesa baseia-se numa aplicação aninhada do modelo WAVEWATCH III™ da NOAA (Tolman, H. L., 2009), forçada nas fronteiras oceânicas pela previsão regional de agitação marítima (http://ariel.lnec.pt/node/17). Nesta aplicação é utilizada uma malha que cobre o domínio desde 11.0°W a 6.0°W em longitude, e 36.0°N a 43.0°N em latitude, com uma resolução de 0.05°. O modelo é forçado por previsões de vento do Global Forecast System (GFS) da NOAA.
The RDFS of the wave propagation in Portuguese shelf is a nested application of the third-generation spectral wave model WAVEWATCH III™ (Tolman, H. L., 2009), forced at the ocean boundary by the regional wave forecast (http://ariel.lnec.pt/node/17). The model spatial grid covers the Portuguese shelf, from 11.0°W to 6.0°W in longitude and 36.0°N to 43.0°N in latitude, with a 0.05° resolution. It is forced with wind forecasts from the Global Forecast System (GFS) of NOAA.
