As previsões dos níveis do mar no Atlântico NE são baseadas na aplicação do modelo SCHISM (http://ccrm.vims.edu/w/index.php/Main_Page). O modelo é corrido em modo 2D barotrópico, e forçado por marés calculadas com o modelo FES2012 (http://www.aviso.altimetry.fr/en/data/products/auxiliary-products/global...) e ventos e pressão atmosférica do modelo GFS do NCEP (http://mag.ncep.noaa.gov/). A resolução espacial na costa Portuguesa é de cerca de 250 m. Para mais detalhes, consultar aqui.
Os níveis (dados e previsões) nas estações portuguesas estão referidas ao Zero Hidrográfico, 2.00 m abaixo do datum vertical Cascais 1938. Nas estações espanholas utiliza-se o Zero Hidrográfico local, diferente para cada Porto. Nas estações francesas o nível de referência ainda não foi corrigido. As animações estão referidas ao nível médio do mar. As animações estão referidas ao nível médio do mar.
Os dados de níveis mostrados são providenciados por várias instituições (Instituto Hidrográfico, Puertos del Estado, Service Hydrographique et Océanographique de la Marine) através do portal emodnet (http://www.emodnet-physics.eu/).

The forecasts of water elevation in the NE Atlantic are based on the application of the model SCHISM (http://ccrm.vims.edu/w/index.php/Main_Page). Water elevations at the Portuguese stations are provided relative to the hydrographic Zero, 2.00 m below the vertical datum Cascais 1938. At the Spanish stations, the local Chart Datum is used. At the French stations, the reference level still needs to be corrected. The animations are relative to the mean sea level.
